Fundraisers

Now that summer is here it is the perfect time to start thinking about various fundraising activities that you, or a group you are involved with, are planning. While you are getting donations from various local business' keep in mind some great tricks of the trade:

1. Always try to get T-shirts or big bulky items. The t-shirts can be stuffed and put at the back of the basket to help the basket look bigger and fuller
2. If given a gift certificate, take the certificate out of the envelope and place on cardstock so that it stands up nicely
3. If you receive hats, stuff them also so that they appear bigger and take up more room in the basket.
4. Try to combine items like a pedicure with dinner for two and tickets to the local theater or movies. Or whale watching with dinner and a hotel room. This gives someone a wonderful evening and give the basket a higher value

Making your baskets or gifts look as big and expensive as possible will give the illusion of grandeur and help you auction things them at a higher price which in turn will help you make more money.
